Garrett Defeats Leo

The Railroaders got back on track with a 42-28 win over Leo at home on Thursday. Garrett won eight of the matches, with half of them coming by fall. Leading the way with the fasted fall of the night was Kyle Lanning. Other wrestlers with pins were Dan Fogt, Zac McCray and Geoff Getts. August Novy earned a tech fall, while big brother Shea got a major decision. Also winning were Brayden Moreau by decision and Austun McCray by forfeit. The Railroaders improved to 5-3 on the season and 1-1 in ACAC action. Travis Carunchia was the only junior varsity match on the night and earned a late reversal and nearfall to pull out the victory. The junior varsity is now 3-0 on the season.

The coming week will be very hectic as there are four matches scheduled in eight days. The junior varsity will travel to Adams Central on Saturday and then to Northrop on Monday for matches. The varsity will be in action on Thursday at the ACAC Triple Dual hosted by Woodlan. Teams in attendance will be Garrett, Woodlan, Adams Central and Southern Wells. On Saturday, the whole team will travel to Carroll for the Carroll Super Dual. Teams there include, Garrett, Carroll, Churubusco, Elkhart Central and Eastside.
