160lbs Awards Stand
Congrats to senior Zac McCray who finished third in the state at 160lbs. Also, senior Bryce Schendel qualified for the state finals for the second time. This great season has now come to a close with numerous records broken. Thanks to all the seniors for all the great memories.
The Railroaders took home another ACAC trophy by winning the conference tournament on Saturday. More will be coming later on the outstanding day on the mats for the Railroaders.
The scheduled match against Bluffton was postponed until Monday January 11th.
The G-Men went 4-1 at the Whitko Super Dual on Saturday. Leading the way were Brayden Moreau, Shea Novy, Bryce Schendel and Zac McCray with perfect records. Garrett defeated John Glenn, Mississinewa, Muncie South and New Haven before falling to the host Wildcats.

Seven wrestlers took part in the Adams Central Junior Varsity Invite this weekend. The Railroaders were lead by sophomores Zach Helton and Travis Carunchia that finished second and third respectively. Other top finishers include Trent Sudhoff in 5th, Andrew Robinson in 6th and Che Fuentes in 7th.
The Railroaders got back on track with a 42-28 win over Leo at home on Thursday. Garrett won eight of the matches, with half of them coming by fall. Leading the way with the fasted fall of the night was Kyle Lanning. Other wrestlers with pins were Dan Fogt, Zac McCray and Geoff Getts. August Novy earned a tech fall, while big brother Shea got a major decision. Also winning were Brayden Moreau by decision and Austun McCray by forfeit. The Railroaders improved to 5-3 on the season and 1-1 in ACAC action. Travis Carunchia was the only junior varsity match on the night and earned a late reversal and nearfall to pull out the victory. The junior varsity is now 3-0 on the season.
The coming week will be very hectic as there are four matches scheduled in eight days. The junior varsity will travel to Adams Central on Saturday and then to Northrop on Monday for matches. The varsity will be in action on Thursday at the ACAC Triple Dual hosted by Woodlan. Teams in attendance will be Garrett, Woodlan, Adams Central and Southern Wells. On Saturday, the whole team will travel to Carroll for the Carroll Super Dual. Teams there include, Garrett, Carroll, Churubusco, Elkhart Central and Eastside.

Garrett faced off with ACAC foe South Adams on Thursday night in the Batemen Gym. The match was very close as 11 matches went the full six minutes or more. The Railroaders came away with six wins, but the Starfires came away with eight victories powered by two falls and an injury default to win 34-21. Garrett was lead by Zac McCray, Kyle Lanning and Brett Schendel who all earned major decisions. Also winning were August Novy, Logan Lee, and Austin Gibson. Erich McCrumb won the only junior varsity match by technical fall.
